Recalls are a well-established global practice; from time to time they are announced by almost all manufacturers of not only cars, but also any other industrial products. But since a car is considered a source of increased danger, it is recalls in the automotive industry that attract the most attention and cause the greatest resonance. Check if your car is covered by a recall campaign. Sometimes manufacturers will recall their cars because of substandard parts or workmanship and repair them for free, regardless of the warranty. This is called a recall campaign. More information on 1966 Chevrolet CORVETTE recalls can be found in this database. Additional Description: 1966 Chevrolet Corvette Convertible - Professionally Restored by Moses Automotive in Ohio - Built LT1 350ci/375hp - Viper Blue Paint - Upgraded Suspension and Brakes (Please note: If you happen to be viewing this vehicle on a website other than our main website, it's possible that only some of our many photographs of this car are presented due to website limitations. To be sure you access all the photographs, please go to our main website: Garage Kept Motors.) Getting the end result you see here was not without blood, sweat, and tears. This Corvette was quite a rough car when our client brought it to their local body shop. In fact the shop that performed the restoration wondered if it was worth it. But, fiberglass doesn't rust, so the project was taken on, and the final product is easy on the eyes. Our client had a vision for the car, and intended to follow through to achieve that vision. A local body shop worked the body to a point that panels lined up and were ready for paint. Dodge Viper Blue paint was chosen, which looks great with the flowing lines of the Vette and is a slightly different shade than the factory Nassau Blue often seen on the C2 Vettes. All the usual trim on the exterior is in great condition, as well as the side pipes. A Carbon Fiber theme was followed in the interior. Carbon Fiber AutoMeter Gauges take the place of the stock units, and carbon fiber look glove box door trim, and center console panel give a little bit of a modern sports car feel. Silver trim around the speedometer, and a custom steering wheel brighten up the dashboard. give the car a more modern performance car look. Otherwise this car's interior is a stock C2 Vette interior. A stock frame was checked for any age related issues, cleaned up, prepped to accept the new LT1 drivetrain, and painted. The engine sits in a tidy engine bay and has the all too familiar Corvette upper trim pieces from a C4 Vette with custom Viper Blue lettering to match the exterior. Plenty of polished aluminum pieces dress up the engine bay, while a T56 6-speed manual transmission with a Hurst shifter make quick gear selection possible. Weld Aluminum wheels give the exterior an updated look, and a hint that what's under the hood may not be what is expected.
